A Piece of Cloth is a textile design and vintage textiles sourcing business. Established in 2009, A Piece of Cloth travels the world to find interesting and unique textiles. Specialising in Antique and vintage quilts, tops, fabrics and feed sacks. We make these available for sale at events, online or from our studio.
Each one of the textiles we stock is hand selected on our international buying trips based on the uniqueness and strength of the print. We specialise in pre 1960s cottons. We do not stock synthetics and avoid blends. We believe in quality not quantity, and as such, many of our textiles are in very limited supply.
We have an extensive selection of vintage and antique quilt tops, feed sacks, orphan blocks, quilts, cutters and fabrics to suit the needs of quilters interested in vintage quilting, restoration or just owning a piece of the past.
Based in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Only 55mins from Melbourne, its an easy drive down the Princes Hwy towards the coast and the Great Ocean Road.
We are currently moving to a new location and will re-open mid to late March 2014
Currently we are only open during the week by Appointment Only.
As this is a studio it is a very relaxed place to visit, come, browse and sing out if you have any questions.
Hand Quilting Service:
We are now pleased to offer a hand quilting service with our partners at The Stitching Project. A social enterprise in India that provides meaningful and well paid work for women. Suitable for vintage quilt tops and modern. Many different options are available to suit most quilts. Call us at the studio to arrange a quote.

We have a range of retail products that can be ordered directly as wholesale.

We offer a unique personalised sourcing service with access to private collections world wide and can source unique textiles on your behalf.

We love students and hope that we can help if you need assistance with fabrics types, swatches for folios and presentations and discounts on yardage purchases.

We have textile design archive that can be viewed by appointment. Fabrics from the 1860s to 1960s.
